This series of pictures, called 'The people of Mandala' was shot at Mandala Festival in Wanroij, the Netherlands. This concept was exhibited for 3 months in Amsterdam.

Mandala Festival is a creative festival that origins from a concept to create a temporary place where dreams can become reality. It’s a world where everyone participates and helps each other exploring their ways of self-expression.
Visitors of this event are called participants. They co-create this dream-world where ideas are brought to life. With some of them I took a small moment of silence. I managed to make them escape the hilarious chaos by taking these pictures. The challenge was to connect with the person in front of the camera while they were often distracted by the many impressions during that moment. I wanted to discover if I could get to their core personalities and capture that. I also was curious if they would be able to open up towards me. We stood still, right there, in the middle where it all happened: a buzzing festival.
